The TRGS-SoPPro Project

What the project is about:

This research, which is a sub-project of the TRGS Profiling of High-functioning Children with Learning Disabilities Using the Neuro-Psychological Framework for Differentiated Instruction project, was initiated to develop a socio-psychological profile for Malaysian children with learning disabilities. In the long run, the developed profile is envisaged to help produce a framework for personalised instruction that would help educators focus on the strengths and needs of these children learning alongside their non-disabled peers.

Insights for impact
-
The findings of this research on the physical, cognitive, socio-emotional, and personality characteristics as well as any other latent attributes, will become the basis for developing a socio-psychological profile of high-functioning children with learning disabilities. Through this profiling, we may be able to understand their strengths and limitations related to their learning abilities.

-
Based on the strengths and limitations, a differentiated learning framework will be developed to suit the learning needs of high-functioning children with learning disabilities. It is hoped that the framework may enhance the children's strengths and assist them as well as carers, parents and teachers to improve their limitations.
